Tough Love Tuesday: How Boudoir Can Benefit Your Business
I've had my photography business Brittanny Taylor Photography long before I started The Branding Edit. Recently when I decided to take the branding photos that I was doing under Brittanny Taylor Photography and put that solely under The Branding Edit, it opened me up to doing what I wanted in my photography business, and what I wanted to do was boudoir photography. I've done it throughout the years and never considered it an option for my business until earlier this year when I took a long-time client's photos, and she told me about an experience that happened to her that was truly horrible and how this boudoir session was going to give her her confidence back. It was going to give her back what someone else took from her without her consent. Once I saw how powerful a boudoir session could be, I knew that I needed to do this as my career.
As I've been doing these boudoir sessions, I've seen a common theme happen after each session. The women who have posed for me are showing up way more confidently. They are wearing the outfits they never thought that they would wear. They are thinking positive thoughts about themselves that they never imagined before. They feel free. Here are a few quotes from some of the women that have posed for me.
One of my clients, Brittany Sanfilippo, has used the photos to promote her confidence and clarity coaching business. She talked about her own journey with self-love and how this session helped to see herself in a new, confident, and beautiful light.

I’m just not meant to be that girl... Have you ever thought that to yourself? 🤦♀️I’m just not meant to have the “perfect” body. 🤦♀️I’m just not meant to have the thriving business. 🤦♀️I’m just not meant to have my dream job. 🤦♀️I’m just doomed to be single forever. At some point in our lives we’ve all felt at least one of these... I’m not zeroing you out, I promise 😂 We’ve all wanted MORE but have felt STUCK at some point. Personally, I’ve felt ALL of these. What I want you to know, is that you aren’t alone...and you GET to be that girl. You get to have it all... But first, you have to figure out what each of these means for you personally and conquer whichever one of these holds true for you the most right now. Whichever one keeps coming up for you and from there...you can conquer ANYTHING ✨ It may take time but, it’s SO possible, you beautiful badass lady 💕 Did you know I’m a certified life coach? I love helping women conquer the one thing that’s been holding them back so they can move forward and continue on like a badass 🦄 If you have a goal and you’re feeling lost DM me a 🧚♀️ so we can make a mini game plan! 📷 @brittanny.taylor #losingweight #beforeandafterpic #beforeandafters #weightlossjourney #transformations #coneyisland #mermaidparade #workingonmyself #beforeandduring #nonscalevictory #nsv #naturalweightlossjourney #naturalweightloss #sweatingforthewedding #beforeandafter #weightlossprogress #losingpounds #weightlosstransformation #losingfat #doingitforme #fitforareason #losingweightfeelinggreat #myweightlossstory #fedupfam #nevergoingback #plussizefitness #plussizeweightloss #ladyboss #weightlossgoals #losinginches
Here's my pitch: I think that all female entrepreneurs should do a boudoir session.
That doesn't mean that you have to hire me, but that would be nice ;) I think that you'll show up so much more courageously in your business after you see how beautiful and powerful you are. You get to see your body and all of its radiant glory. You get to honor the body that carries you throughout your life. No one else has to see these photos if you don't want them to. This is beyond taking sexy pictures of yourself. I photographed hundreds of people throughout this past decade of being a photographer, and no other type of photo session has impacted lives like a boudoir session.
The funniest thing that I've noticed when doing these boudoir sessions is that I hear the same concerns that I do during a headshot or branding session. That they don't like their double chin or they don't like that they have a bit of a fuller belly. It's the same concerns, just with less clothing. I noticed that it's not them showing up semi-nude that is scary, it's just showing up at all.
We already know that as women, we feel that we have to be more subdued or proper or all those other words that are attributed to being a woman, and not many of us were taught to show up as boldly as our male counterparts do. And I think all of that is plain ridiculous.
So I dare you to do you the thing that is going to bolster your confidence...
It could be doing a boudoir session.
It could be ditching the pantsuit and wearing a bright orange dress to that meeting.
It could be cutting off the long hair that everyone loves, but you are dying for a pixie cut.
It could be taking the selfies and sending them to your best friends so they can hype you up.
Do the thing that is going to encourage you and make you feel like the bad bitch that you are.
Your business, and YOU, will only benefit from your confidence.
