Brittanny Taylor

photographer and social media consultant

What is your role in The Branding Edit?

I am The Technician aka the photographer and social media branding consultant. I’ve been a fashion and lifestyle photographer working in New England and New York for the past eight years. I’ve been teaching workshops on social media for the past three years.

Favorite place to get work done?

Working from home can be distracting since I live in a studio apartment (I see everything I own at all times). I’ve been known to spend too many hours in front of my laptop at Small Point Cafe or Easy Entertaining, my two favorite local cafes.

What do you listen to while working?

I love listening to podcasts but I avoid listening to business or personal development podcasts while I am working. My favorite podcast is Dynamic Banter with Mike and Steve. It’s completely ridiculous and very entertaining to listen to while I’m working away. My favorite background music right now is Mulatu Astatke. He’s an Ethiopian musician known as the father of Ethio-jazz.

What does working on a team mean to you?

Being part of a team means having people there who compliment what you do. When you work for yourself it’s easy to feel like you have to do everything well. When you’re on a team you can focus on what you excel at and you have people around you who excel at what you may not do as well. Olivia is great at making sure the subject is looking flawless when I’m trying to make sure the photo technically is good. Patsy is great at writing Instagram captions while my focus is getting a great shot.

Your secret tip for being productive.

Watching study with me, clean with me, or bullet journalling videos on YouTube. Sounds weird but once I get a playlist going on my iPad, it’s like having your own work partner next to you.

Patsy Culp

branding and event strategist

What is your role in The Branding Edit?

I'm The Tactician. By definition, a tactician is a person who uses a carefully planned strategy to achieve a specific end. My job is to shine a light on what makes you unique and help you get clear on your brand purpose and vision so that we can begin mapping out your visual story.

Favorite place to get work done?

Some of my favorite local co-working spots include Easy Entertaining Cafe in Providence, The Nook Coffeehouse in East Greenwich & Red DWG Library in Pawtucket.

What do you listen to while working?

It all depends on my mood. Sometimes it's a podcast: Good Life Project & Movement Makers are two of my current favorites. Other times, it's Norah Jones or Ray Lamontagne.

What does working on a team mean to you?

Being part of a creative team like ours is really a dream come true. I live for collaboration, so the fact that I have the opportunity to co-create with two of my best friends who happen to be amazingly talented - and our clients, who become friends in the process, is just awesome. They say, "two heads are better than one," but I'd argue that "three complimentary brains are simply the best."

Your secret tip for being productive.

Recently, I've been practicing my own version of The Pomodoro Technique by blocking off back-to-back 45-minute work sessions. It's amazing at how much you can accomplish without interruption during that time period. I also live for project planning software like Asana and Trello and keep everything in my Google Calendar.

Olivia Rodrigues

fashion stylist and confidence coach

What is your role in The Branding Edit?

I'm The Transformer so primarily I assist our clients with their personal style and ensure that it is in alignment with their branding photoshoot and with the essence and message of their business.

Favorite place to get work done?

I will get work done anywhere where there is access to good food + coffee, comfy corners and of course free WIFI. North Bakery, Bolt Coffee in The Dean Hotel, and Tea In Sahara are a few of my favorites. And sometimes that place can be home too! All depends on the room my 4-year-old is in (lol).

What do you listen to while working?

I listen to Mayra Andrade, Fela Kuti, Solange, and Frank Ocean on Pandora.

What does working on a team mean to you?

It means I get to share and combine my passion + talent with other equally passionate and talented creatives, whom I respect and admire deeply. It also means there is a collective effort and desire to make sure everyone is on their game, and we are each other's sounding board. We each possess different qualities, skill sets, perspectives that can only enrich and strengthen the quality of our work.

Your secret tip for being productive.

I like to give myself a specific time to work on a particular project. I learned it from Patsy. And the more productive I am between those work time intervals, the more likely I will make it to spinning class. Which then is bound to make me feel great, setting the tone for the next day and how I tackle that to do list. To me, it's all connected.
